Two teenagers killed and three left fighting for lives after head-on crash just hours into New Years Day
TWO teenagers have been killed and three are fighting for their lives after a head-on crash in the early hours of New Year's Day.
Humberside Police said the horror smash happened at 1:20am on January 1 in Preston, near Hull.
A grey Volkswagen Golf collided with a Vauxhall Grandland travelling in the opposite direction.
Two passengers in the Golf, a 16-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man, tragically died from their injuries.
Cops said two other passengers, a 16-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy suffered "life-threatening injuries".
Both were rushed to hospital.

The driver escaped the smash with minor injuries.
The woman, 34, who was driving the Grandland suffered a serious injury to her arm.
Meanwhile two other passengers sustained minor injuries.
The horror smash also left a 62-year-old man in another vehicle with life-threatening injuries.

Victims in the horror crash have not yet been identified but cops said their families have been informed and are being "supported by specialist trained officers".
A spokesperson has also appealed to anyone in the area at the time and anyone who witnessed the crash, or has dashcam footage, to contact them.
The force said in a statement: "Officers are appealing for information following a fatal road traffic collision in Preston, Hull in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday 1 January).
"A grey Volkswagen Golf was travelling along Staithes Road away from Preston when it was in collision with a black Vauxhall Grandland travelling towards Preston at approximately 1.20am.
"Emergency services attended however two passengers of the Volkswagen Golf have since died.
"A teenage boy, aged 16, was pronounced deceased at the scene, a man, aged 18, was conveyed to hospital for life threatening injuries, however died a short while later.
"Two other passengers, a teenage girl, aged 16, and teenage boy, aged 17, suffered life-threatening injuries and were taken to hospital to receive medical treatment. The driver suffered minor injuries.
"A passenger of the Vauxhall Grandland, a man, aged 62, sustained life-threatening injuries alongside the driver, a woman, aged 34, who sustained a serious injury to her arm.
"They were also conveyed to hospital for treatment. Two other passengers suffered minor injuries.

"Their families have been informed and are currently being supported by specialist trained officers at this extremely difficult time.
"We would appeal for anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the collision, who has dashcam footage or witnessed the collision and has not yet spoken to us, to contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 60 of 1 January."
