Two children, 10, and woman in her 30s rushed to hospital after police car ploughed into them as it chased BMW
TWO young children and a woman have been rushed to hospital after being hit by a cop car.
A police vehicle was in pursuit of a blue BMW when it smashed into three pedestrians, in Leicestershire, at just after 4.40pm today.
A woman in her 30s and two 10-year-old children were struck near the junction of Narborough Road and Upperton Road.
Emergency services took all three to hospital.
The woman is understood to have suffered a "minor injury" and the children were taken "as a precaution".
Leicestershire Police are still hunting the blue BMW after the driver fled the scene.

There are road closures in place while investigations continue.
A spokesperson from Leicestershire police said: "Shortly after 4.40pm today a pursuit was authorised in relation to a car that failed to stop for police close to the junction of Narborough Road and Upperton Road, Leicester.
"As the officer driving the police vehicle attempted to pursue the car – a blue BMW – the police vehicle collided with three pedestrians.
"East Midlands Ambulance Service attended and a woman in her 30s and two children aged 10 were assessed at the scene.

"The woman is believed to have suffered a minor injury. They have all been taken to hospital as a precaution.
"The blue BMW that failed to stop made off from the area. Enquiries are ongoing in relation to this.
"Road closures are currently in place while the incident is dealt with."
