DISTURBING video shows young offenders wielding huge blades behind bars.

The two inmates are seen unsheathing the zombie knives before threateningly swinging them around.

Other lags can be heard jeering as the one filming on an illegally smuggled phone shouts: “My f sons, you know.”

The nine-second clip, filmed last year in the exercise yard of Feltham Young Offender Institution in West London, was shared on Snapchat last week.

Bosses are investigating after being alerted by The Sun.

Both people are believed to have since been released, with one recently uploading footage of himself inhaling nitrous oxide.

Patrick Green, from knife crime prevention charity The Ben ­Kinsella Trust, said last night: “These images are a disgrace.

“They vividly portray the lawlessness that surrounds knife crime in the places where their access to everything is supposedly severely restricted and monitored.

“We’ve reached a truly appalling point in our society where jails have become knife crime hotspots.

“It’s clear current laws are being ridiculed. Urgent questions must be addressed regarding how these weapons are smuggled in and why these dangerous criminals are being released back on our streets.”

A source added: “The size of these zombie knives is truly terrifying. It looks like it’s being filmed from inside the building down into the exercise yard. No guards are in sight, which is worrying.”

This year has already seen the fatal stabbings of Kelyan Bokassa, 14, on a bus in Woolwich, South East London, and Thomas Taylor, 17, at Bedford bus station.

There were 225 knife murders in the year to June 2024, Office for National Statistics data shows.

Police also recorded 50,973 offences involving a blade — up 80 per cent in a decade.

HM Inspectorate of Prisons revealed Feltham YOI A, housing tearaways aged 15 to 18, has the worst violence rates of any jail across England and Wales.

In the year to March 2024, there were 410 violent incidents and 343 weapons found — with offenders warning relatives not to visit them for fear of attack.

The report, released in July, also showed Feltham YOI B, holding inmates between 18 and 21, struggles with attacks against staff.

The Sun has told how a lad, 17, held for plotting a terror attack has allegedly stabbed ten warders at Feltham.

The Ministry of Justice said: “We take a zero tolerance approach to violence across the prison estate.

“An investigation has been launched into this video. Anyone found guilty of wrongdoing will be punished, which could include extra time behind bars.”
