'NOT A HOTEL'

Migrants who refuse to embrace British culture should live elsewhere, says Kemi Badenoch

Ms Badenoch added the party would learn from mistakes, being blunter on issues such as Brexit, immigration and net zero

MIGRANTS who refuse to embrace British culture should find somewhere else to live, Kemi Badenoch declared yesterday.

The Tory leader’s hardline stance, vowing to cut immigration as well as to restore voter trust, was set out during her first major speech of the year.

She said: “We simply cannot take all the millions of people who want to come here from elsewhere.

“Our country is our home, it is not a hotel.

"If people arriving don’t want to integrate into British culture, they shouldn’t be here.

"And it is not controversial to say that.”

Ms Badenoch added the party would learn from mistakes, being blunter on issues such as Brexit, immigration and net zero.

She also shot down speculation about a Tory-Reform UK merger.

She said: “Nigel Farage says he wants to destroy the Conservative Party. Why on earth would we merge with that?”

But Mr Farage claimed on X only 21 people were watching her speech on Facebook and the YouTube stream crashed.
