Bloody murder suspect led away by cops after screams heard at home where woman found dead & girl, 2, seriously injured
A BLOOD-covered murder suspect was led away from a home where a woman was found dead and two-year-old girl seriously injured.
Police were scrambled to Ashford, Surrey, yesterday afternoon after horrified neighbours heard chilling screams.
The woman, aged in her 20s, was discovered dead inside while the young girl was rushed to hospital.
A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.
Surrey Police believe the victim and suspect were known to each other and said there is not believed to be a wider risk.
Horrified neighbours today described hearing "screaming and shouting" coming from the home.
One said: "It was chaos. We heard screaming and shouting. It was definitely a woman."
Another local, Jessica, told The Sun: "Police brought a man out covered in blood and told us to get away."
While one neighbour added: "I saw a child being taken out and a man being arrested.
"There was a very large police presence and an air ambulance."
An investigation, led by the Surrey and Sussex Police Major Crime Team, is underway and enquiries are ongoing.
No update has been released on the girl's condition.
Senior Investigating Officer DCI Kimball Edey said,
“This investigation is in its early stages and a team of specialist officers are working around the clock to gather as much information as possible.
“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victims at this unbelievably difficult time.”
