They had been called to perform a welfare check on Monique Gilbertson in November after her transgender house guest allegedly killed her.

Video taken from the officers' body cameras shows them searching the house with a locksmith after the house guest Danial Roush refused to answer the door.

Roush, a transgender woman identifying as Jazzlyn Marie Roush, had been living with the 68-year-old woman.

But Monique had reportedly been trying to kick her guest out before her sudden death.

When police arrived to check on Gilbertson, the 37-year-old said "She's not here right now" and claimed to be housesitting before saying she had "rights" to the property.

Footage shows the moment the police enter a utility room in the house where one officer lifts up a sheet that is resting on a large object.

The white sheet was covered with random objects like toilet paper and clothes.

Another officer can be heard asking: "What is this?"

Roush replied hesitantly saying that it was the freezer.

A locksmith was then called to come and open the locked chest freezer, and the grim discovery was made.

"There's something in there," one of the cops said.

The officer shone his torch into the freezer and lifted a white cover before finding Gilberton's frozen body.

"There's a person in here. Go get them in handcuffs," the officer quickly told his colleague.

The 68-year-old had been missing for two weeks before cops found her on November 6.

Clark County District Attorney James Puccinelli told the that she had been "folded up" in the freezer and her body had been "frozen for some time."

Roush was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

But she told cops that she found Gilbertson collapsed in a dining room chair and panicked not knowing what to do and so "put her in the icebox."

Roush further claimed that she thought Gilbertson had overdosed on drugs, despite her never having a history of drink or drugs.

Prosecutors claim Roush "force-fed" Gilbertson more than 200 times the amount of fentanyl that could kill a person.

She allegedly did this "willfully, unlawfully, feloniously, and with malice" causing Gilbertson's death, prosecutors state, per a report by .

Roush's wife, Gina Lopez, who was also at the property during the welfare check, was arrested on drug charges related to the incident but is not charged with murder.

It is believed that Gilbertson was killed around October 22, the day she evicted her unwelcome house guest.

Police had found text messages between the pair with the 68-year-old landlord saying "I just can't live with anybody, I'm so sorry."

"I helped you for way longer than I thought I would so just think of it as a gift. So, you have to find another person."

She had reportedly invited Roush to live with her temporarily after learning that she was homeless, according to court documents seen by The Post.

But she soon became frustrated and "upset about how filthy" her new guest was and kicked Roush out before changing the locks.
