DONALD Trump has begun his first official day as the 47th President of the United States.
He appeared at The Washington National Cathedral around 11am on Tuesday for a national prayer service.
Vice President JD Vance and his wife Usha stood alongside him in the pews - with the wider Trump team gathered behind them.
Trump is later expected to meet with Congressional leaders to discuss his plans going forward for the new administration.
Within hours of being sworn in on Monday he signed a slew of executive orders and pardons in what has been dubbed a "shock and awe" effort.
The jubilant Maga leader, 78, promised a "golden age of America" before arriving at the Capital One Arena to raucous cheers, chants and applause on Monday.
He then victory danced his way back into the White House with his wife Melania and new VP Vance at multiple glitzy inauguration balls.

More on TikTok executive order
Trump also signed an executive order postponing the closure of TikTok, giving the app popular with Gen Z a stay of execution.
Under the order, TikTok has a 90-day extension before it is banned after it earlier disappeared from many users' app stores.
The administration said the order would give the Chinese-owned company time to find an American buyer.
More executive orders
Among the dozens of executive orders Trump signed in his first hours back in the White House was a mandate requiring federal workers to return to the office full-time.
Another order put a federal hiring freeze into effect.
Trump said that would be changed after he introduces a plan to reduce the size of the federal workforce.
Trump's tour continues
The inauguration day events are slated to continue late into the night.
After a full day that included the inauguration ceremony, parade, and tea with the outgoing president, Trump's day isn't quite over.
He is expected to appear at three different galas on Monday night, including the Liberty Ball, the Commander-in-Chief Ball, and lastly, the Union Station Ball.
Fetterman switching parties?
Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman came up during Hulk Hogan's interview with Fox News host Jesse Watters.
"The Democrats are stepping up, too," Hogan said while describing his excitement about Trump's new term.
Watters responded by sharing a rumor he heard about Fetterman, who "might actually switch parties."
"That's something that's been kicked around a little bit today," Watters continued.
Fetterman attended Trump's inauguration clad in a hoodie and shorts.
Hulk Hogan's 'Trumpamania'
Appearing on Fox News with host Jesse Watters, WWE star Hulk Hogan spoke about his exhaustion, but also excitement for Trump's return.
He then ripped off his shirt to reveal an undershirt emblazoned "Trumpamania."
"We've got Trumpamania running this country!" he said.
Hogan then fake tackled Watters, as the host said, "Love ya, Hulk man."
Undoing the Biden Administration's work
In the first hours of his second term, Trump revoked about 80 executive actions from former President Biden's administration.
Trump said that signing the orders was a way to "remove the cancer" that was the Biden administration.
The 47th President also withdrew from the Paris climate treaty and the World Health Organization.
Pelosi speaks out
After Trump signed an executive order pardoning around 1,500 January 6 protesters, former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi spoke out.
"The president’s actions are an outrageous insult to our justice system and the heroes who suffered physical scars and emotional trauma as they protected the Capitol, the Congress and the Constitution," she said.
Trump's Q&A ends
Trump held court for almost 40 minutes answering questions after signing executive orders in the Oval Office.
One of the last orders he signed removed the United States from the World Health Organization.
Trump has famously attacked the WHO's approach to the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic.

Donald Trump has claimed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is ready to agree to a historic ceasefire agreement with Russia.
The new commander-in-chief also accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of "destroying Russia" by refusing to bring an end to the war.

Trump speaks out about TikTok
"TikTok is worthless if I don't approve it," President Trump said at the Oval Office on Monday evening.
"If I don't do the deal it's worthless, worth nothing. If I do the deal it's worth maybe a trillion dollars."
He made the comments while signing an executive order allowing TikTok a 90-day extension to avoid it immediately being banned.

The President did not confirm when he would do this.
He also claimed the war in Ukraine would never have started if he was president at the time.
Cartels to be designated as foreign terrorist organizations
Trump's attack on South American crime and drugs groups continues on his first day in office.
He signed an executive order that would designate these organizations as terrorist groups.
Trump finds Joe Biden's letter to him
The outgoing US President traditionally leaves a letter to the incoming leader in the draw of the Oval Office desk.
Trump was asked whether Biden left a letter for him, which he scooped out of the draw and showed reporters.
He showed the envelope to the cameras but said he would not share what was written until he reads it himself.

Trump signs January 6 pardons
The President has continued his executive order signing spree back at the Oval Office.
Around 1,500 people - charged with offences related to the January 6 attack in 2021 on the Capitol - are set to be pardoned.
Names of these people have not been released yet.

The commander-in-chief will spend time in the Oval Office before heading off to three balls tonight.
The night is young for the new leader as he could sign even more executive orders before the evening festivities start.
Marco Rubio is confirmed by Senate as Secretary of State
The Florida senator was confirmed by a landslide 99 to zero vote.
Rubio, 53, will become the first Latino to hold this title.
He will replace Anthony Blinken in this role, in the face of growing global tension in the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and around China.
Rubio quickly became Trump's first confirmed cabinet secretary for his second term in The White House.

Trump started off his second term with several huge executive orders.
He signed and announced them in front of his adoring fans.
The first one rescinded 78 executive actions from the Biden era.
These will also include:
- A freeze on hiring federal workers
- Requiring federal workers to return to in-office work.
- A regulatory freeze which would issuance of new regulations for now.
- Immediately withdrawing the US from the Paris climate accord.
- Ordering every agency to preserve all records pertaining to "political persecutions" under former President Joe Biden.
- Directing cabinet members to defeat inflation.
- Ending government censorship of speech.

Trump slams the Biden administration
The President hit out at the previous government as the "worst administration in history".
Trump told loyalists that he would repeal many of the orders and laws brought in through the past four years.
He also lashed out at Joe Biden's government for an apparent increase in immigration through the border with Mexico.
Yesterday he revealed that he would declare an emergency at the US-Mexico border after his inauguration.
Huge cheers for Barron Trump
Fans at the Capitol One Arena burst into huge cheers and applause when the president mentioned his "very tall" son.
The commander-in-chief also drew cheers for his granddaughter Kai Trump, as he puts the spotlight on the youth.
