Teen suffered a near-fatal stroke after being tricked into smoking a Spice-like ‘legal high’

A TEENAGER almost died from a devastating stroke after he was tricked into smoking a legal high similar to Spice.

Harley, now 18, had to learn to walk, talk and eat again after the debilitating drug caused a seizure which left him paralysed for 40 hours, unable even open his eyes.

He was just 15 at the time and the drug he was tricked into smoking was still legal.

In a candid video released by Devon and Cornwall Police, Harley said: "I could not even open my eyes.

"While I was on the floor at home I was scared, terrified and thought I could be dead.

"My mind went blank, I can't remember anything else."

Harley says the drug - similar to the synthetic cannabis Spice - caused him to have a seizure, and because he was left for so long, it developed into a near-fatal stroke.

He said: "I was young and immature.

"If I could turn back time, I would tell myself not to touch it.

"I would have told myself it was poison."

The danger drugs - often marketed as plant food and "not for human consumption" - have since been outlawed.

But chilling footage of people believed to have smoked the drug looking like zombies has emerged from cities across the UK.

A harrowing clip shot in Manchester's Northern Quarter appears to show three men completely paralysed like statues.
