Brit Liam Hannigan, 34, missing for three days on Tenerife holiday as desperate family say his ‘phone was switched off’

The family have made a desperate plea for help in finding the Brit

A BRIT holidaymaker has gone missing in Tenerife with his desperate family saying his phone has been switched off for days.

Liam Hannigan, 34, has been missing since February 7, after he went on holiday at a popular Canary Islands resort with his pals.

Fears first started for the Greater Manchester man's health after his loved ones revealed they hadn't been able to contact him for three days.

The Brit was staying at a property in the La Asomada area with a group of friends.

He was reportedly last seen at Dreamers Bar with there being no trace of his current whereabouts.

A bank card and passport belonging to the missing Brit had been found with family friends who live in the Los Cristianos area, Liam's family said.

He had visited them in the days prior to his disappearance, according to his bank transactions.

Liam's sister Ellie told the M.E.N that the Clifton lad last spoke to her on Friday, but that her final message to him failed to deliver.

She said: "Normally if he wasn't speaking to me, he'd speak to another of his sisters or our mum.

"Over the weekend we realised he hadn't contacted any of us, and his friends said they hadn't seen him since Friday morning.

An appeal was quickly launched, with information also shared by the Missing Person's Tenerife page on social media.

Liam is described as being around 6ft 1in with a slim build, full beard and tanned skin.

He also has a tattoo on his chest which says "Family First" and a small "A" on his wrist.

Ellie added: "He's very family-orientated. He would never ever stress us out like this, it's very unusual.

"Even just a sighting or someone who assumes they've seen him could help. We just want him home."

She also confirmed her mum and stepdad are flying out to Tenerife to help with the search.

The Foreign Office are also supporting the family and it is understood the case has been reported to Greater Manchester Police.

It comes as another Brit holidaymaker who vanished in Tenerife back in November was miraculously found alive and well after going missing for four days.

Kris Finney from Lancashire, was reported missing after not being heard from for several days.

A local shopkeeper found a worse-for-wear Kris and helped him after he was left with no money and a shattered phone.

His aunt Debbie Kenyon told the BBC after he was discovered: "We are so relieved. We were sick with worry.

"He told me his phone had broken and he had no money or way of getting in touch with us."
