‘Twitchy’ America may strike North Korea after Donald Trump brings in carrier group with huge offensive power
Lord West doesn't believe that America would do a nuclear strike because of the global implications
There is absolutely no way the Americans would allow North Korea to develop a ballistic missile with a warhead that fitted that ballistic missile that could hit the western seaboard of the USA.
They haven’t done it yet, but they are moving towards it, and that is why the Americans are getting twitchy.
I think they could do it within 12 to 24 months and Trump doesn’t want to be the President who was there when suddenly they have got that.
I think it’s as close as that and that’s why the Americans are upping the ante.
The consequences are going to be extremely worrying.
I don’t believe the Americans would do a nuclear strike because the global impact of that would be just too awful.

What they would do, almost certainly, would be a huge conventional strike.
The problems there are, would they have squared this off with China and would they be certain of taking out all the nuclear weapons and stopping the North Koreans launching a huge offensive against the South, and that’s the real worry.
The Chinese are the key to dealing with it, they could cut North Korea off from everything.
But the thought of a united Korea with US troops in it is not something they want to contemplate.
The US have brought in a carrier group which has huge offensive power, it can cause a devastating blow on any target, it has huge power and is a huge message.
The world is so chaotic, the number of threats and risks are so huge, but the most likely threat in terms of a nuclear weapon being detonated is that in the Korean peninsula.
