Firefighters battling blaze that ripped through beloved Glasgow pub roof more than TWELVE HOURS after it took hold
Crews were called to the derelict Broomfield Tavern last night in the north of the city using water jets in a bid to bring the inferno under control
FIREFIGHTERS are still battling a blaze that ripped through the roof of a beloved Glasgow pub more than twelve hours after it took hold.
Crews were called to the derelict Broomfield Tavern in Barmulloch around 7.38pm yesterday where locals watched in horror as the well-known venue was engulfed by the inferno.
Six trucks were sent including a high-reach vehicle to fight the blaze that eventually spread to the roof of the north Glasgow boozer.
The Scottish Fire Service confirmed there were no casualties and were still bringing the fire under control with one water pump this morning.
Many people in the local area were distraught to see the Broomfield Road pub ablaze.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "The fire service were called to a fire at a derelict commercial premises at 7.38pm on Sunday.
"Six appliances were mobilised including a high-reach vehicle.
"Officers are currently using water jets after the fire spread to the roof area.
"There were no casualties and there is one pump still in attendance."
