Man caught on camera ‘walking out of Co-op with TV’ – before it was dumped at train station and suspect ran off

Cops want to speak to a man in connection with the brazen theft

A MAN suspected of marching out of a shop carrying a huge flat-screen TV has been dubbed "Britain's most unsubtle thief" after the alleged theft was captured on CCTV.

The suspect was caught on camera striding out of the Co-op store with the £300 Digihome TV he had allegedly just lifted from a display.

Derbyshire Police released images of the man following the theft at the branch in Glossop, Derbs., on March 27.

A force spokesman said: "Sometime between 1pm and 1.30pm a man entered the Co-op on Norfolk Street, Glossop and took a Digihome TV from display.

"He then left the store without paying.

The suspect has been branded "Britain's most brazen thief" after allegedly stealing the telly from Co-opCredit: SWNS:South West News Service

"Staff from the Co-op followed him out of the shop to the train station where the TV was left and the offender ran off.

"Our officers have now released CCTV stills of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident."

The audacity of the alleged theft has stunned social media users, who branded the suspect "Britain's most unsubtle thief."
