Frail gran, 79, left with black eye, cuts and bruises ‘after being attacked by woman who wanted her to move her car’
Pauline Kerridge says she was also punched in the face shielding her mum Elma Kerridge, 79, from the blows
A FRAIL great-grandmother and her disabled daughter were left covered in bruises after they were allegedly attacked by a young woman in a parking row.
Elma Kerridge, 79, suffered cuts and a black eye and Pauline was allegedly punched in the face trying to shield her mum from the blows.
The woman is said to have asked Elma to move her car, which was parked on the drop kerb outside Pauline's house in Danbury, Essex, because she wanted to park there herself.
Elma said her daughter, who has Parkinson's disease, would do it once they finished dinner.
When they went to move their cars ten minutes later the woman is said to have launched a volley of four-letter abuse and repeatedly punched the OAP "like a boxer".
Pauline, 55, said: "My mum pulled out the space to the right and I moved my son's car forward and reversed mine back onto the drive.
"With that the woman went racing up to my 79-year-old mother and said 'did you want to ******* fight you ****?'
"She replied, 'no darling, this is Danbury, not Basildon'.

"She started to smack and punch my mum in the head several times. Seeing my mum being hit, I got hold of her hair and pulled her off.
"I didn't want to hurt the girl. She turned around and started punching me in the face. She marked my face and broke my glasses.
"With that her partner came out and pulled her off of me and that was the end of it."
Elma, who recently had a triple heart bypass, was left with cuts and bruises over her face and was given a check-up by her doctor.
She said: "I feel shaky. Previous to this I had been quite ill with a bad bug and I was just getting over it but she has knocked me for six now.
"I went to the GP and he made a note of every mark I have got. There are bruises still coming out.
"She was beating me on the head and I was putting my arms up to protect myself so my arms and fingers are black. It was like she was a boxer.
"Nothing like this has ever happened before. You don't expect a woman to come up for no reason and say 'do you want to fight?' And it was all to do with moving the car."
Pauline added: "My mum is feeling very shaken. I can't get the vision of her being punched in the head repeatedly out of my head. It's an absolute nightmare.
"My head has not been right since. My bruises went from black to blue to yellow and they were very painful."
Essex Police said: "We received reports of a disturbance in West Belvedere, Little Baddow, at around 5.15pm on Sunday, April 9.
"A 55-year-old woman, from Little Baddow, reported she was punched in the face following an argument with a woman.
"A woman, from Braintree, was also assaulted and suffered a minor hand injury. Enquiries are ongoing."
