Selfie Queen Karen Danczuk in bid to be Labour’s candidate in Bury North for June’s snap election
SELFIE QUEEN Karen Danczuk is in the running to become the candidate for Bury North in the General Election.
The former wife of MP Simon Danczuk, Karen rose to fame on social media for posting a string of revealing selfies.
But the 33-year-old now wants to make a run for in in Parliament - after her four-year stint as a councillor in Rochdale ended in 2015.
And the mother of two could join her estranged husband in the Commons if she was selected and won the seat.
A source told Guido Fawkes: "Karen connects with people, she’s a poor girl done good, and she’s a local girl. She’s serious about getting selected."
If selected she will be up against Tory MP David Nuttall, who has a thin majority of just 378 votes.
She met her former husband in Rochdale and they married in 2012 after having their first child together in 2009.
The pair claim to still be on good terms, although last summer Simon was arrested and spent two nights in a jail cell in Spain after a "boozy bust up" with Karen while on holiday with their boys.

Karen’s older brother Michael Burke was convicted of eight rapes against three different victims, including his sister, on November 30 2016.
He collapsed in court after he was found guilty of a string of sex attacks over an 18 year period between 1992 and 2010.
Karen bravely spoke out - and told The Sun how her ‘monster’ of a brother robbed her of her childhood after years of abuse.
