TRUMP'S TONNE

Donald Trump’s first 100 days in pictures – from counting crowds and holding hands to sacked advisers and nuclear threats

IT is 100 days today since Donald Trump was sworn in as US President.

And here are the pictures that sum up his tumultuous first three months which have been marked by tweets and tirades, hiring and firing, a flurry of executive orders and bitter legal and legislative wrangling.

Huge bombing raids in the Middle East have raised questions over potential links with Russia and the threat of nuclear war with North Korea.

But in just the same fervour that his opponents spit fire when he speaks, the supporters that swept him to his historic victory last November continue to adore him.

And what's his verdict? "I don't think anybody has done what we've been able to do in 100 days, so we're very happy".

Donald Trump - who has no experience in politics or government - has faced a steep learning curve in his opening months at the White House.

With the arrival of the symbolic milestone of 100 days in power today, a cold, hard reality is setting in for the billionaire businessman who promised supporters he would "win, win, win" for them.

At this stage of his presidency, Donald Trump is the least popular leader in modern US history - even if his core supporters still fully back him.

The 70-year-old president, whose election victory unleashed a political shockwave around the world, is still clinging to the take-no-prisoners, unpredictable, impulsive style that made him a property mogul and reality TV star.

And he certainly place the cat among the pigeons, rocking the establishment to the core.

Horrified liberals have been out demonstrating against Trump’s policies which go against everything they believe in.

For the second time in a month, tens of thousands of protesters are expected to today turn out in Washington to voice concern over the President’s rejection of climate change laws.

In his election campaign, Trump called climate change a hoax.

Last month he kept a promise to the coal industry by undoing climate-change rules put in place by his predecessor, Democrat Barack Obama.

As a side theme, marchers will protest Trump's crackdown on illegal immigrants which has caused fury among left-wing middle class America and across the West.

Trump's 140-character Twitter volleys helped define the first 100 days of his presidency.

This has been sent up by a new Simpson's episode.

As the character sits on his bed, he appears to be scrolling through his favourite social media platform as he addresses the audience.

He says: “100 days in office.

“So many accomplishments: Lowered my golf handicap; my Twitter following increased by 700; and finally, we can shoot hibernating bears.

"My boys will love that,”
