Human remains found in bags of gravel at playground by horrified parents

HORRIFIED residents found human remains in bags of gravel near a playground.
The terrifying discovery was made just metres from where kids were playing in South East London on Saturday, April 12.
Cops were rushed to the scene after locals discovered a jaw and fragments of an arm during a community-led project to "spruce up" their play area.
Residents were left horrified - with one shaken mum recalling how “tiny kids were playing right next to literal bits of human arm.”
Detectives have patrolled a crime scene ever since while searching for more bones at The Church Grove Project in Lewisham.
The traumatic incident has left many terrified, with parents particularly concerned about the safety of their children.

One young mum-of-one said: “You see this stuff on the news, but it was right outside our front door.
“It’s so much more immediate, you just never think something like this will happen so close to you.
“We are extremely shaken, I think the whole community is.
“Tiny kids were playing right next to literal bits of human arm.”

Her husband added: “It was just crazy, it is usually very wholesome vibes here.
“We all pitch in and grow our vegetables in the shared eco garden, it’s just mind-boggling, completely shocking.”
The mother continued: “I’ve literally just had a baby, it’s absolutely terrifying, we moved her to be safe we just don’t know what to do.
The partial remains, thought to be non-recent, were said to have only been discovered after falling out of a large builder’s bag.
Half a dozen police officers were seen excavating the shared garden in a bid to complete the skeleton and work out its identity.
Another local said: “When I heard they had dug up a body I was very shocked. I have a little one so that’s been extra stressful.
“Forensics are still digging up the garden and trying to find any more bones which is worrying. They’ve been at it for days.”
The community-led social housing development, run by the Rural Urban Synthesis Society, sees residents design, build and manage 36 affordable and sustainable rented flats.
A spokesperson from the Met Police said: "On Saturday, 12 April police were called at 14:08hrs to Church Grove, SE13 following reports that human remains had been unearthed in a garden.

"There have been no arrests at this stage and officers are working to establish an identity, although the remains are thought to be non-recent.
"Enquiries are ongoing and a crime scene remains in place."
