Driver killed after trying to ‘retrieve ladders that had fallen from his car’ on M1 in horror crash as cops launch probe
Cops have launched a probe following the tragic incident
A MAN has died in hospital following a horror collision as he was retrieving ladders from a carriageway.
The 67-year-old man tragically died after he was struck by a Toyota Rav 4 at around 1.30pm on May 21.

West Yorkshire Police have said that they believe he was hit while trying to recover ladders from the carriageway after they fell from the roof of the Ford Ranger vehicle he was travelling in.
Snaps of the scene show ladders dotted along the road as a fleet of ambulances swarmed the spot where the collision took place.
Paramedics are seen waiting patiently while the victim is attended to.
Cops say they are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the horror incident.

A man who was interviewed voluntarily by officers on the same day as the collision has been released under investigation.
