Who is Dani Mathers?

Dani Mathers is a 30-year-old model and actress from Los Angeles.

She was Playboy's Cyber Girl in January 2013, the magazine's Miss May in 2014, and Playmate of the Year 2015.

Mathers held a frequent hosting spot on the Heidi and Frank show on a KLOS 95.5 but was suspended after the incident.

She appeared in the film Neighbours starring alongside Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne and has had a recurring role as coffee shop waitress Danica on CBS' The Bold and Beautiful.

She also appeared in short film Thrilling Contradictions in 2014, according to her IMDB profile.

Mathers previously told Playboy: "I'm from a big Jewish-Italian family. I was brought up playing in the mud, cheerleading, and playing volleyball, and I can't seem to keep my mouth shut."

Why has Dani Mathers been in trouble?

The model posted a picture of a naked 70-year-old lady inside an LA Fitness changing room on Snapchat along with the caption: “If I can’t unsee this then you can’t either.”

She was accused of “body shaming” and faced an angry backlash online.

Dani claimed it was an "accident" and she meant to send the picture to just one friend but was forced to apologise.

She said: “There is no excuse… I understand fully the magnitude of this post and that I have hurt a lot of people, women.

“Body shaming is not OK and is nothing to joke about… This was meant to be a part of a private conversation that never should have happened.

“I’m sorry for what I did… I need to take some time to myself  now to reflect on why I did this horrible thing.”

Her post also broke privacy law in California which makes it illegal to photograph an identifiable person while they are changing without their consent.

What happened when Dani Mathers went to court?

The glamorous model tried to evade court by arguing that the woman in the picture was too far away to be identified, reports .

But Judge Gustavo Sztraicher disagreed, said she had not shown remorse and warned her she faced up to six months in jail and an £800 fine.

The Instagram star, who has reportedly been banned from all LA Fitness gyms, underwent counselling and took part in an anti-bullying course in bid to avoid trial.

When she was hauled back before Los Angeles County Superior Court she pleaded no contest to a charge of misdemeanour invasion of privacy.

She was offered the choice of 45 days in jail or 30 days' work removing graffiti - and chose the latter.

Mathers will be on probation for three years and must not take photos of people or post them online without their permission.

Her attorney Thomas Mesereau said outside court: "She really apologises from the bottom of her heart for what happened.

"She never thought this would come out like this. Never intended to hurt anyone."

After the conviction she was blasted over an interview with ABC after complaining she had received death threats and lost her privacy after the incident.

She said: “We've had a lot of paparazzi involved in my family life. I had my privacy taken away after I took someone elses.

“To hide out at my mother's house at age 30 because of something I've done. It just felt really low.”

By November 2017 she had not completed as much of the community service she was ordered to complete and was told she could face jail for shirking her punishment.
