Oxford stab student Lavinia Woodward dubbed too brainy for jail went ‘dark’ after getting hooked on drugs, pal claims
Old pal says first sign of change was when she started posting naked pictures on Facebook
THE Oxford student dubbed too brainy to be jailed for stabbing her lover became odd after getting hooked on cocaine, an old pal claims.
Aspiring heart surgeon Lavinia Woodward, 24, even took to posting nude snaps of herself online.
A former school friend said: “After she went to Oxford she turned weird. She became all dark and gothic and it was obvious she was into drugs.
“It quickly got around that she was hooked on cocaine and, in a bid to beat it, went into rehab.
“She posted naked pictures of herself on Facebook which was completely out of character for the girl I went to school with.
“Lavinia is one of the most intelligent people I know. At school she got top marks for her exams.
“She was very introvert. She hardly had any friends and was always studying.”
On her Facebook page, which she has since deleted, Lavinia painted a picture of a privileged upbringing.
She posted pictures of herself in designer outfits and travelling on private jets.
She wrote: “The best things in life are free. The second best things are very, very expensive.”
Lavinia admitted stabbing Thomas Fairclough in a drink and drug-fuelled rage.
