Georgina, 18, was the first of the 22 people killed in the suicide bombing to be named.

Leslie Callander was joined by around 1,000 people at the emotional memorial event in Tarleton, near Leyland, Lancs.

The devastated mum sobbed as she clutched a blanket in the village’s Mark Square – known for being the scene of happier gatherings such as Christmas concerts and carol singing.

Similar events were held across the country, including in Manchester itself, where huge crowds gathered in Albert Square in the city centre.
