Piers Morgan criticises Ariana Grande for flying straight home after Manchester bombing and failing to visit her injured fans like the Queen did
PIERS Morgan has sparked controversy after criticising Ariana Grande for failing to visit her injured fans in hospital like the Queen did.
Her Maj was pictured yesterday at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital where she spoke to victims of the Manchester concert bombing.
Katy Perry tweeted an image of the monarch chatting to injured Millie Robson, 15, writing: “God bless The Queen and her kind heart.”
But the Good Morning Britain host seized on the tweet, replying: “Agreed. Might have been nice if @ArianaGrande had stayed to do the same.”
The pop star flew straight back to the US after the terror attack and hasn’t spoken publicly about what happened.

But she did take to social media herself in the immediate wake of the bombing, writing: “Broken. From the bottom of my heart, I am so so sorry. I don't have words.”
Morgan’s comment sparked a storm on social media – with many people rushing to the singer’s aid – but the TV presenter stood his ground.
Replying to one man who said Grande was “probably traumatised herself”, he wrote: “Probably not as much as those killed and wounded. She should have stayed to visit her injured fans.”
Asked how he would have reacted in the same situation, he replied: “I can 100 per cent guarantee you I would stay and visit those who had been killed or wounded watching me perform.”
When another Twitter user suggested the singer’s youth as an excuse, Morgan answered: “Twenty-three is not a child.”
And when one man said his comments were “ill thought out”, he answered: “If the Queen can visit the victims in hospital, so can the star they paid to see.”
