The Sun helps Jeremy Corbyn celebrate his 68th birthday with P45 cake in honour of his upcoming retirement
Corbyn has said people working stressful jobs shouldn't have to wait until 68 to retire - now he doesn't have to
LABOUR leader Jeremy Corbyn has previously said people working stressful jobs should not have to wait until they turn 68 to retire.
Corbyn is having his cake and eating it, as he hit that milestone yesterday but is still clinging onto his job.
To celebrate his many happy returns, The Sun delivered Corbyn a birthday cake with a special message in icing - a P45.
We waited for the end of Corbyn’s speech to give him his gift, but the paranoid politician got wind of our generosity and decided to shuffle out of a side door instead.
Our gag was shared around on Twitter and had some users in tiers of laughter.
One commenter, who goes by the name @BranchMetal said: “Happy birthday Mr Corbyn, what a nice birthday cake.”
Another, by the name of Ian White, said: “Surely it should have been a fruitcake?”
The cake unfortunately ended up in the bin, along with Corbyn’s political career.
