Police probe as man, 21, dies after ‘taking MDMA and drinking vodka’ on shuttle bus to Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Hull

POLICE have arrested a 20-year-old man after a festivalgoer died on a shuttle bus to Radio 1's Big Weekend in Hull.
The 21-year-old man was using the service from the Hull Paragon Interchange to the festival location at Burton Constable Hall.
He was taken ill during the journey at 2.30pm yesterday with emergency services then called to the scene.He was taken to the Hull Royal Infirmary but died later that afternoon.
Officers at Humberside Police won't confirm how the young man died until a post-mortem is carried out but it has been claimed that he died after taking drugs and alcohol on the bus.
A witness said the festivalgoer had taken MDMA concealed in a paracetamol packet and downed three vodka-based drinks while queuing for the bus, reported .
An onlooker, who didn't want to be named, said: "He sort of looked like he was having a panic attack.
"All of a sudden he hit the girl in front of him and they turned round and said to his friends ‘can you not keep him under control a bit more?’.
"The next thing you know he's chucked himself on the floor and was fitting on the ground. His friends said that he'd taken something.
"I was the one who shouted ‘can we get an ambulance’ because his face was turning completely blue."
In a statement, Humberside Police said: "A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the sad death of a 21-year-old man yesterday.
"The man died at Hull Royal Infirmary after being taken ill on a bus travelling from Hull's Paragon Interchange to Burton Constable Hall."We are continuing our investigation into the circumstances of his death today but they are not believed to be suspicious.
"A 20-year-old man arrested in connection with the investigation remains in police custody."
50,000 music fans are expected at the two-day festival with acts including Katy Perry, Lorde and Little Mix.
Security measures for the festival are stronger than usual, including a heavier police presence, following the suicide bombing in Manchester that killed 22 innocent people last Monday.
