Ariana Grande’s mum in moving tribute to Manchester terror attack victims as she posts message to fans on Twitter
ARIANA Grande's mum has urged her daughter's fans "to never let evil rule our lives" in a heartfelt tribute to the 22 victims killed in last week's Manchester bomb attack.
Joan Grande, who was in the front row at the Manchester Arena and rushed to help young fans escape in the aftermath, also praised the emergency services for their actions.
In a tribute posted on Twitter on Monday night, exactly one week on from the attack, she wrote: "This past week I have spent in reflective thought, prayer & deep sorrow.
"I join my daughter in extending my help & services to all those affected by the diabolical act of terror which occurred in Manchester!
"My heart goes out to all the victims: those who lost their lives, those injured, those recovering & all survivors of that night, along with the families & friends whose grief knows no bounds.
"I stand with you all in the face of evil & we stand together to never let it rule our lives!
"Thank you to all those who helped in any way that night in Manchester. I continually thank those who are & were in service protecting our freedoms every day all over the world! #MemorialDay."
Joan was reported to have ushered young fans to safety after the explosion tore through the foyer at the arena just after 10.30pm last Monday.
Her statement came after her daughter Ariana shared a long statement with her fans on Friday.
The 23-year-old wrote: "I have been thinking of my fans, and of you all, non-stop over the past week.
"The way you have handled all of this has been more inspiring and made me more proud than you'll ever know.
"The compassion, kindness, love, strength and oneness that you've shown one another this past week is the exact opposite of the heinous intentions it must take to pull off something as evil as what happened Monday."
Following the slaughter – carried out by Brit born terrorist Salman Abedi – Ariana wrote an emotional post on social media saying she was “broken”.
She wrote on Twitter: “Broken from the bottom of my heart, I am so so sorry. I don’t have words.”
A representative from the singer’s label confirmed the 23-year-old was “okay”, although was reportedly left “in hysterics” following the bombing.
The singer cancelled her world tour in the wake of the horror.
