Girl, 19, who says she was raped at gunpoint is told she’ll be STONED TO DEATH after Pakistani judges ruled she had sex outside marriage

A YOUNG woman who claims she was raped at gunpoint by her cousin was sentenced to death by stoning after a Pakistani tribal council accused her of adultery.

The 19-year-old told village elders she was attacked at her family home in Rajanpur.

But the elders in the "panchayat" system believed she seduced her relative and ordered her death.

The woman was declared a "Kari or Karo", which means an adulteress and often leads to honour killings to restore a family's reputation.

Fearing for her life, she fled and contacted the police because the panchayat have no legal standing.

The reports that the teenager told police: "I could not raise an alarm as he was holding a gun.

"But the panchayat refused to accept my statement and declared that I wilfully slept with him."

After calling the cops, the woman was sent to a safe house.

Police officer Qaisar Hasnain claimed the woman's father said he was forced to accept the panchayat’s judgment.

He said: “Since the panchayat declared her liable to be killed he had to accept the decision as it was the tradition of his village.”

The incident happened on Friday in Rajanpur, a rural district about 400 kms from the capital Lahore.

The council of elders reportedly decided no action needed to be taken against the alleged rapist.

Cops have now issued arrest warrants for the council of elders and alleged rapist now.
