Salman Abedi killed 22 people after he detonated a bomb at Manchester Arena following an Ariana Grande concert on May 22.

In light of the attack, Phil told the that Britain's security situation was "dire" and claimed the UK is an "easy target".

He also believes terrorists who are "exploiting" Britain by infiltrating the country after travelling to the Middle East in order to train with groups in Libya and Syria need to be hunted down by MI5.

Phil, who served in the SAS for 15 years, said the horrific event in Manchester was "not a surprise with the attitude we have got to out personal security in this country", adding that more should have been done and "a lot earlier".

The city of Manchester has been left devastated by the terror attack which claimed the lives of young children as well as adults.

A bomb exploded in the foyer of Manchester Arena moments after US pop star Ariana Grande left the stage.

Witnesses told how nuts and bolts were sent flying in the blast as fans made their way to Manchester Victoria train station next door.

Salman’s younger brother and father were arrested in Libya, while his older brother was detained after masked officers swooped on him outside a Morrisons store in Manchester.

To show their support for the victims of the devastating attack, a number of musicians are due to perform at a charity gig tomorrow at 6pm.

Ariana Grande has returned to Manchester to headline a fundraising concert at the city's Old Trafford cricket ground for the victims of the suicide bombing.

All proceeds of One Love Manchester will go to the victims and their families.

Networks in China, Australia, South America and across Asia will also air the gig live and in full, with many more in talks.

The event will also be streamed online, meaning the total number of viewers around the world could surpass the estimated one billion who saw 1985’s Live Aid concert.

Little Mix, Coldplay, Miley Cyrus, Pharrell Williams and Take That are on the bill to perform alongside Justin Beiber and Katy Perry.
