Is London Bridge station open today? Travel updates, road and tube closures after terror attack
A NUMBER of roads and stations were closed following the terror attack at London Bridge on Saturday night where eight people lost their lives.
Just a stones throw away from London Bridge station, three jihadis wearing fake suicide bomb vests struck at the heart of London by driving a van at 50mph into crowds on London Bridge and going on a stabbing spree before finally being shot dead by police.
What happened at the London Bridge attack?
Three terrorists wearing stab-proof vests drove a van into pedestrians at 50mph on London Bridge before attacking revellers with hunting knives.
In an attack lasting little over eight minutes, the terrorist gang screaming “this is for Allah”, launched their rampage, stabbing and slashing at innocent victims with 12 inch blades.
One officer was seriously wounded before heroic cops gunned down extremists within eight minutes of first emergency call at 10.08 pm.
After ploughing a white van into several pedestrians on London Bridge, the killers ran down a flight of stairs at the side of London Bridge towards Cafe Brood near Borough Market.

The terrorists “hesitated” then ran down the road and began to attack drinkers in the nearby Mudlark pub before entering Borough Market itself.
An eyewitness said it was not long before they had completed a loop of the market and came back to Cafe Brood before continuing onto the Black and Blue restaurant where they were finally gunned down by police.
After the attack police evacuated many of the survivors from Borough Market to Liverpool Street where they took witness statements and kept witnesses inside until Sunday morning.
Is London Bridge Station closed?
Following the incident on Saturday evening, Transport for London (TfL) and Network Rail announced London Bridge mainline station and London Bridge underground station were both closed.
The stations remained closed throughout Sunday (June 4).
Both stations reopened on Monday (June 5), though TfL warned commuters that the underground station would be busy and should expect delays.
TFL has warned that only the Tooley Street entrance is open and it is expected to be extremely busy with Northern and Jubilee line services running as per usual.
A statement from TFL said: "Customers are advised that the only entrance/exit to the station will be the Tooley Street entrance.
"Because of this reduced access, the station will be much busier than usual and there may be queuing systems in place - please re-plan your journey to avoid the station during the morning peak if at all possible.
"There will be limited access to walk across London Bridge.
"Customers who usually use the closed roads to cross the river are advised to use London Underground services or National Rail services to Charing Cross, Waterloo East, Cannon Street, Blackfriars and Victoria stations."
However, London Bridge rail station is operating as per normal. Trains are still running to and from Charing Cross, Waterloo East and London Cannon Street.
Are any roads still closed?
According to TfL, London Bridge itself is still closed Southbound.
Borough High Street is closed in both directions between Duke Street Hill and Marshalsea Road.
Southwark Street also remains closed between Southwark Bridge Road and Borough High Street.
