UBER are refunding those caught up in the London Bridge terror attack after they were branded "lower than low" for ramping up their prices.

Terrified victims were charged the surge price by the company as they ran for their lives from three knife-wielding terrorists rampaging through the tourist hotspot on Saturday.

They cancelled the higher pricing later that night but were slammed on social media for allowing their costs to rise after the attack.

Amber Clemente said: "Hey @Uber — you’re really going to surge price x2.1 during a terrorist attack in #London??? Lower than low".

Another blasted: "Big fan of @Uber but bitterly disappointed in profiting from a terrorist attack.”

While Lee wrote: "Black cab drivers doing their bit for stranded Londoners whilst uber ups its fares. #LondonBridge".

Seven people were killed when jihadists rammed a van in pedestrians on London Bridge before launching into a frenzied knife attack.

Another 48 were injured as the attackers hacked at revellers in packed bars and restaurants in Borough Market.

Uber has since confirmed they will refund passengers who used the app around London Bridge on Saturday night.

Tom Elvidge, the general manager of Uber in London, said: "As soon as we heard about the incident we immediately suspended dynamic pricing all around the area of the attacks - and shortly afterwards across the whole of central London.

"We are also ensuring all rides from around the affected area were free of charge."

Uber says that surge pricing was switched off by 10:50pm around London Bridge and cancelled for the whole of central London by 11:40pm - although some have claimed on social media it was still activated at midnight.

Uber says that people who used the app in the surrounding area of London Bridge on Saturday night should have already been automatically refunded.

If they have not been refunded, they should contact customer services.

London black cab drivers were praised for giving free rides to take people away from the surrounding area.
