Hundreds turned out wearing pink and blue coloured clothing to say goodbye to the much-loved teenagers.
The vicar taking the service said Liam, 19, and Chloe, 17, were the "image of love".
Mourners broke down in tears as the couple's white coffins were escorted through the streets and carried into St Hilda's Church in their hometown of South Shields, South Tyneside.

Chloe was about to start an apprenticeship at a travel agents while Liam was an exercise science student at Northumbria University and wanted to join the police.
They were among 22 innocent people killed in the terror attack at the end of a Ariana Grande concert on May 22.
Mourners were handed a booklet with the words "together forever" and "to celebrate our beautiful Liam and Chloe".
The Rev Fr Chris Fuller told the crowds gathered: "Chloe and Liam were and still are an image of love.
"Inseparable in life, inseparable in death, inseparable now with the angels of heaven."
The loving teen couple had long-term plans to get married and have children, the service was told.
Chloe had supported her boyfriend following the death of his dad Andrew from cancer.
The two coffins were carried out of the church as a recording of Chloe singing Someone Only We Know by Keane was played.
Chloe's parents Mark and Lisa, and Liam's mother Caroline decided to hold a joint ceremony.
In a tribute posted on Facebook, they said: “On the night our daughter Chloe died and our son Liam died, their wings were ready but our hearts were not.
"They were perfect in every way for each other and were meant to be.
"They were beautiful inside and out to ourselves and our families, and they were inseparable.
"Chloe always described herself as ditzy who Liam adored and would do anything for, including dealing with Chloe’s demands for chocolate. They lived to go to new places together and explore different cities."
Chloe's dad Mark last week thanked the public for the support shown.
Speaking at a concert held in Chloe and Liam’s honour at the amphitheatre in South Shields, he said: “We didn’t expect anything like what everyone has been doing. The amount of love and support you have shown all of us has been fantastic.”

Georgina Callander, 18, Saffie Rose Roussos, 8, John Atkinson, 26, Kelly Brewster, 32, Alison Howe, 44, Lisa Lees, 43 and Olivia Campbell, 15, have also been named as victims who lost their lives.
