Ed Sheeran gets MBE — a year after Princess Beatrice sliced his face with a sword as she pretended to knight him
SINGER Ed Sheeran has gone from sleeping on Jamie Foxx's sofa as a budding musician — to an MBE.
The global superstar, 26, released his debut album in 2011 and is recognised for his services to music and charity.
The gong comes just a week before he closes the Glastonbury festival in one of his biggest ever gigs.
Ed was born in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, on February 17, 1991, to an art curator father and a jewellery designer mother.
He grew up in Framlingham, Suffolk, sang in a local choir and learnt to play the guitar before getting his big break in LA in 2010 when he was spotted by Jamie Foxx.
