Asked if she was a victim of racism during the General Election, she said: “I think politicians complaining about the media is like sailors complaining about the weather.”

On her series of car-crash interviews, Type 2 diabetes sufferer Ms Abbott insisted: “Stress wasn’t an issue, my blood sugar level was.”
She added: “I am back to fighting fitness.”
