THIS is the horrifying moment a racist thug launched a petrol bomb at a mosque.
Thomas Conington carried out the attack in Edinburgh during the early hours of the morning last September.
The 29-year-old, who has a Nazi swastika tattoo on his chest, was today jailed for almost four years.
CCTV footage shows him standing at the gates of Edinburgh Central Mosque with a Molitov cocktail in his hand.
He then lights the petrol bomb and launches it over the fence and onto the steps of the holy building, setting fire to the door.
Conington was sentenced at the High Court in Glasgow today after admitting the 2am attack.
He started another fire at the mosque a year earlier and must serve at least three years and nine months behind bars.
Shaven-headed Conington raised a middle-finger to the public gallery as he was led to the cells.
The court heard that a month earlier the thug was arrested for being aggressive and racially abusive.
It also emerged Conington had also been involved in another racist incident at a supermarket.
He hurled abuse at security guard Yakub Moro at the Tesco store in the capital's Duke Street last March 3.
The thug called Mr Moro “a monkey” as well as labelling him a “paedophile” and a “fenian b******”.
