Theresa May is to poach a BBC TV heavyweight in a bid to take back control of Government’s chaotic PR since the election
Beeb's politics boss Robbie Gibb and Diplomatic Editor James Landale in frame for vacant Director of Communications role

EMBATTLED Theresa May is to poach a BBC TV heavyweight in a bid to wrestle back control of the Government's chaotic PR, The Sun can reveal.
Downing Street sources confirm that the Beeb's politics boss Robbie Gibb and Diplomatic Editor James Landale have both discussed filling No10’s vacant Director of Communications role.
It is understood face to face meetings with the PM have taken place this week.
Big-gun producer Robbie Gibb heads up the all of the BBC’s Westminster operation and edits BBC2’s Daily and Sunday Politics shows.
His brother is Conservative minister Nick Gibb and he worked for ex-Tory grandee Michael Portillo in the 1990s.
Old Etonian newsman James Landale was previously based in Parliament as the corporation's Deputy Political Editor.
No10’s spin operation has been in chaos since the pre-election walk out of former Director of Communications Katie Perrior and Mrs May's Press Secretary Lizzie Loudon.
Since the disastrous snap poll more than a dozen key aides have left their posts in Downing Street.
