Fellow passenger said the England man 'didn't look comfortable' on Jubilee Line train
LOFTY striker Peter Crouch has used his height to full effect in a glittering football career - but it definitely proved a major disadvantage when catching the Tube in London.
The 36-year-old Stoke star was pictured living up to his name and crouching down on a packed Jubilee Line carriage yesterday.
The 6ft 7in tall forward, who has 42 England caps and 22 goals for his country, towered above other commuters dressed in a causal Oxford shirt and baseball cap.
Despite jibes about his height, Crouch has been one of the most consistent top-flight finishers in English football in the past decade with more than 150 goals.
He has spent three years at Liverpool where he won the FA Cup in 2006 and notched 22 goals.
Many football fans will remember his trademark robot dance celebration, which he once famously recreated in front of Prince William when met England World Cup stars in 2006.
Crouch, 25, said at the time: “When the future king of England is asking to see it, you can’t really turn him down.
"I had to throw the shapes in and he seemed pretty pleased with it.”
Macclesfield-born Crouch and model partner Abbey Clancy, who have two children Sophie, 6, and Liberty, 2, are now expecting their third child.
