After being handed a toy bear designed for newborns she turned to William and said: “We’ll just have to have more babies.”

Julia Sielicka-Jastrzebska, whose firm makes the toys, said the Duchess made the quip after learning the bear was designed to comfort babies by replicating the sound of the womb.

Julia said: “We gave the Duchess some presents for Prince George and Princess Charlotte. She said they should have more babies and they laughed.”

The Duke and Duchess were visiting The Heart, a centre promoting digital start-up businesses.

The royal couple had earlier visited the Warsaw Rising Museum to pay their respects to the 200,000 Poles who died in a 63-day rebellion against Nazi occupation in 1944.

George and Charlotte visited Canada last year in their first Royal trip abroad.
