Eerie photo shows uncanny Harry Styles lookalike starring in the original Dunkirk movie 60 years ago
THE horrors of Dunkirk are brought back to life on the big screen with the help of a young star with boy band good looks.
But he’s not called Harry Styles.
Astonishing photos from the set of the original 1958 Dunkirk film show a youthful actor with an extraordinary resemblance to the One Direction star - who has been hailed for his performance in Christopher Nolan’s new telling of the tale.
With a shy smile on his face he can be seen trailing two officers on a Normandy beach.
In another scene he clutches his hands together while kneeling on the sand.
And he is seen again in the back of a small ship bobbing in the English Channel.
But it’s not a case of Harry being able to time-travel.
The young star is in fact a British actor called Sean Barrett.
He was 18 when he starred as Frankie in the film directed by Leslie Norman.
He was the apprentice of a garage owner played by Richard Attenborough who captained one of the small boats that went to rescue the stranded Allied troops.
Now 78, Barrett has starred in numerous TV and film roles throughout his career including Holby City to Labyrinth.
The evacuation of Dunkirk saw 300,00 Allied troops rescued from Normandy between May 26 and June 4 1940, by a flotilla of ships.
