Dramatic moment TWO HUNDRED illegal migrants are arrested by immigration cops as part of massive crackdown on homes packed with foreign workers

In the first half of this 2017, the two hundred illegals were found living in squalid conditions with landlords using them as easy income

THIS is the moment illegal migrants packed into squalid homes by dodgy landlords were arrested by immigration cops.

Two hundred illegals were found across multiple homes in the first half of this year, with a fresh crackdown on landlords who were chasing "an easy source of profit" without showing any "concern for the wellbeing or safety of their tenants".

Most migrants were from India, but Pakistani, Chinese, and Albanian nationals were also detained.

Penalties of up to £3,000 were slapped on 24 slum landlords found guilty of cramming illegal migrants in to tiny properties.

The crackdown came under Operation Magnify - the Government’s intelligence-led campaign to stamp out illegal migrants working in high-risk sectors such as nail bars and construction.

Many were found to have entered the UK illegally while others had overstayed their visas.

Immigration Minister Brandon Lewis said: “These operations show that we will not tolerate people living and working illegally in the UK.

"Illegal working cheats the taxpayer, has a negative impact on the wages of lawful workers and allows rogue employers to undercut legitimate businesses.

“Those who come to the UK to live and work illegally often arrive with a very different expectation to the situation that they then face.

"The reality is very different and they will often find themselves at the mercy of exploitative employers or landlords.

“Those unscrupulous landlords flout the rules by knowingly renting property to illegal migrants as an easy source of profit.

“We are committed to tackling abuse and building an immigration system which works in the best interests of the country.”
