Heartbroken pals of young Brit lad who died on holiday in Bulgaria’s Sunny Beach party resort pay tribute to ‘young legend’

HEARTBROKEN pals of a young Brit who died on holiday in Bulgaria have paid tribute to the tragic lad.

Cameron Russell, 20, -  known to pals as Buff - lost his life on Friday in the popular party resort of Sunny Beach while on holiday with a group of around 20 mates.

Police are investigating the death of the tragic 20-year-old

Cops in the eastern European country have launched a major investigation into the mystery death with a postmortem due to take place to establish how the young Scot died.

Officers are in contact with the Foreign Office who are providing support to the lad's devastated  family.

His distraught pals have paid tribute to the former Garnock Academy pupil, from Dalry, Ayrshire, who was described as a "gentleman" and "young legend".

Heartfelt tributes flooded in for the tragic Scot with dozens of devastated pals taking to Facebook to offer their memories of Cameron.

Darren Chalmers wrote: "We all lost a true friend and gentleman yesterday. You only got Cameron one way, absolutely heartbreaking.

"You will be the brightest star up there mate, shine bright boy."

Danielle Hay posted: "My heart is breaking, breaking for you all more. You were a treasure.

"Always a part of our family love you until we meet again. My thoughts and love are with you all

And the young footballer's former team Dalry Tartan AFC wrote: "It's with great sadness I have to write this a member of our club Cammy Buff Russell has sadly passed away.

"Cammy was loyal and true to the club. It's not only loss to our club but the community of Dalry itself .

"Cammy was a genuine good guy - not only a player but a close friend to all of us who will always be in our hearts and greatly missed

"At this time all our thoughts and well wishes are with Cammy's family and friends . Shine bright young legend. Love and miss you wee man."

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office confirmed they were offering consular assistance to Cameron's family.
