A TEENAGE lad filmed in viral footage dancing the MACARENA while crossing a busy Saudi road has been arrested for 'disrupting traffic and violating public morals'.

Police in Jeddah today arrested the 14-year-old boy who performed the 1990s dance phenomenon in front of traffic at a pedestrian crossing in the city of Jeddah.
He is seen giving the person filming his performance a cheeky grin before he busts a move.
According to Sabq, as cited by , the official spokesman for Makkah police, Col Atti bin Attia Al-Qurashi, said the teen’s conduct is considered “a disruption of traffic and violation of public morality.”
It is not clear whether he was jaywalking or crossing while the pedestrian signal was green, however the cars appear to waiting at the traffic lights at the time.
The video sparked debate across social media.
Many on Twitter began calling for the teenager's arrest as soon as the video surfaced, while others called him "impolite" and "inappropriate".
However, many Saudis liked the dance and expressed their full support for him.
One fan called the boy a "hero" while another dubbed him a "Jeddah Master".
The teen will now be questioned and referred to the public prosecutor.
Earlier this month a popular Saudi Arabian singer and TV host was arrested for “dabbing” during a concert in the conservative country.
Abdallah Al Shahani was performing the dance move at a music festival in the city of Taif in south-west Saudi Arabia last weekend.
