REAL OR FAKE?

Heart-stopping video shows parachutist’s amazing near miss as a plane soars past at 5,000 feet – but is all as it seems?

Headcam footage showing the nail-biting moment has left the internet divided

THIS is the heart-stopping moment a parachutist narrowly avoided being struck by a plane 5,000ft in the air - but the clip has left viewers questioning whether it's real or fake.

Headcam footage appears to shows the private jet shooting over the man as he plummets to the ground.

It was posted on YouTube and then shared on Reddit where sceptics quickly uncovered the dramatic video as a fake.

The short clip shows the parachutist looking to his right as he spins to the ground below.

But a small jet suddenly shoots overhead as the cameraman - thought to be uploader Jacob Menard - spirals round to see it disappearing into the distance.

Some web viewers were convinced the video was the real deal having experienced a similar situation.

One, Scubamine, wrote: "Can totally believe this. Had a similar incident (in a much slower/smaller plane)."

But critics were unconvinced - especially after realising the uploader had the same name as a visual effects studio worker.

A tell-tale error was also spotted - one of the cords connecting the parachute to the jumper glitches for just a fraction of a second as though it has been copy and pasted back on to the video.

The video is still shrouded in mystery as it has since been removed.
