Gareth Bale’s fiancée Emma Rhys-Jones wept as she met fraudster dad for first time in six years as he was freed from US jail
Welsh footie aces’ future father-in-law Martin Rhys-Jones had emotional reunion with daughter Emma and met his grandchildren for the first time
GARETH Bale’s fiancée had an emotional reunion with her dad after his release from US jail after a five-year stretch for fraud.
His release means can now give her away at her planned wedding Real Madrid superstar Bale, 28, set to take place next year.
The Welsh footie aces’ fiancée Emma Rhys-Jones, 26, broke down in tears when she saw Martin Rhys-Jones for the first time in six years.
Mum-of-two Emma has told pals she has delayed her big day in the hope her dad would be at the altar when she weds £85m winger Gareth.
Rhys-Jones, 53, flew home last week after spending five years behind bars in Spain and the United States.
The wedding is expected to go ahead next summer if Wales fail to qualify for the World Cup finals.
International fraudster Rhys-Jones met up with Emma at a secret address in Cardiff two days after his release from jail.
He had never met Gareth and Emma's children and had only seen photos that the pair sent to the New York jail where he was held.
Alba Violet, four, and one-year-old Nava Valentina were both born after he was jailed for six-years for masterminding a multi-million pound shares scam.
A family source said: "Emma is planning her and Gareth's wedding and now it looks like her dad will be there for her.
"They've drifted apart while he was in jail so she wanted to see her dad and for him to meet his grandchildren.
"The meeting was hush-hush and there were no photographs taken.
"Gareth wasn't there, I'm not even sure if he knew it was going on."
While Martin Rhys-Jones has been in jail, his family has been hit by the fallout of a gangland feud over a missing suitcase of cash, drugs and jewellery.
It disappeared from the home of Emma’s Grandparents John and Eva McMurray last year – and a vengeful drugs gang has targeted family properties and torched cars.
Relatives claim father-of-five Rhys-Jones found religion while behind bars and is looking for a fresh start.
His was picked up at Heathrow and driven to Cardiff where he met with Emma and his granddaughters.
Rhys-Jones also met his daughter Charlotte, the partner of Wales and British Lion rugby star Taulupe Faletau
The couple have a one-year-old son Israel who Rhys-Jones also met for the first time.
The family source said: "A lot has happened since Emma's dad was locked up, it will all be a bit strange for him.
"He has known Gareth for years because he and Emma are childhood sweethearts.
"But Gareth has become one of the richest footballers in the world during the time he was in prison.
"Martin has also got three new grandchildren and wants to spend some time getting to know them."
