Premier league ace Hal Robson-Kanu accused of ‘land grab’ at his £1.5million mansion by council
The West Brom and Wales ace was refused retrospective permission for fencing he put up at the home he bought in 2012 when playing for Reading
PREMIER League striker Hal Robson-Kanu has been accused of a “land grab” by his local council.
The West Brom ace, 28, was refused retrospective permission for fencing at a £1.5million home he bought in 2012 while he was playing for Reading.
He and a neighbour say the land had been private gardens of homes previously on the new build site in Ascot, Berks.
But Bracknell Council claims the fences have added 400 square metres of green belt land to Robson-Kanu’s garden.
Robson-Kanu purchased one of four new-build homes before it was complete, for more than £1.2 million.
Both homeowners maintain that they had not purposely grabbed the land.
A public inquiry next week will rule whether the fencing is lawful.
