Couple on Heathrow flight had a drunken row so explosive the plane had to be met by gun cops
Terrified BA staff alerted the pilot of Flight BA282 after the pair began shouting at one another before turning their aggression on members of the crew
A HUSBAND and wife went on a boozy rampage at 30,000ft yesterday - and had to be forcibly sat down.
Chaos broke out on a British Airways jet from Los Angeles to Heathrow airport.
The British couple, in their early 30s, were screaming at each other - before abusing other passengers.
Terrified BA staff alerted the pilot of Flight BA282 and the warring couple were reportedly restrained.
The woman was seen to have bruising around her face and neck.
Crews had separated the duo in the downstairs section of the Airbus A380.
Cockpit crew radioed ahead to the UK and armed police met the flight on touchdown in Terminal 5.
Officers disembarked all passengers but the couple from a rear exit of the plane.
They were spoken to by officers and warned about their future conduct.
Passengers heard the sozzled couple abuse crew and said they were tied to their seats, but BA did not recognise this account.
British Airways told The Sun: “The couple were returning from holiday and were tanked up.
“They began screaming at each other and things very quickly got out of hand. It was a blazing row.
“It was terrifying for all other passengers and crew to endure this obscene behaviour. They were very sheepish on arrival in the UK.”
British Airways told The Sun: “The welfare of our customers and crew is always our priority.
“Police were called to meet the aircraft following a dispute between two customers.”
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “Police were called at 07:43hrs on Tuesday 13 September to Terminal Five, Heathrow airport following a report of a disturbance during a flight.
“Officers met the British Airways flight which had come from Los Angeles and landed at 10:10hrs.
“Two passengers were spoken to by officers. No arrests.”
