The Everton striker, 31, is banned from driving for two years after being caught at nearly three times the limit in a car with party girl Laura Simpson.

The ace was driven from training in his £150,000 Range Rover Overfinch.

He also owns a £250,000 Bentley Continental GT, £100,000 BMW i8, £50,000 Audi SQ7m and is buying a £350,000 Lamborghini Aventador.

A luxury car insurance expert said: “It’s going to cost him.”

“Players are high risk. The profession of a Premier League footballer has an extremely high rate of convictions, accidents, speeding tickets and thefts compared to other occupations.

“Someone with a drink-driving conviction could end having to pay between ten and 20 per cent of the value of the car – with an excess of up to £30,000. The cost is astronomical.

“But everything is possible, if your pockets are deep enough like Rooney’s.”

A spokesman for insurance firm Elephant said: “Professional footballers are the drivers most likely to have points on their driving license for committing offenses such as speeding, running red lights and using a phone whilst driving.
