HUGH Hefner’s third wife Crystal Harris is a former Playboy cover star who once jilted the legendary womaniser five days before their wedding.
The 31-year-old was born in Arizona to English parents and spent the first few years of her life living in West Bromwich, near Birmingham.
Who is Crystal Harris?
Harris was born in 1986 in Arizona to her English mother and father who were working at a British-themed amusement park.
But when the future Mrs Hefner was born, the family soon moved back to the UK settling in West Bromwich, near Birmingham.
When Harris was five-years-old, her parents decided to move back to the US and opted for the beautiful sunshine of California.
The blonde-haired beauty attended San Diego State University where she majored in psychology.
It was during her time at college where she started modelling.
How did she meet Hugh Hefner?
Harris met Hef at a Halloween party at the Playboy mansion in 2008 before appearing as “Co-Ed of the week” in the iconic magazine on October 30 of that year.
She was engaged to the elderly Hefner three years later but called off the relationship five days before the wedding in 2011.
That month’s cover of Playboy had already been designed featuring Harris as Mrs Crystal Hefner.
But following her decision to leave Hef, a sticker was placed on the cover which read “Runaway Bride.”
After leaving Hefner, Harris appeared on Howard Stern’s radio show on which she revealed she did not find the Playboy founder attractive and had never seen him naked.
She later apologised for the comments and eventually reconciled with Hefner tying the knot with him on New Year’s Eve 2012 at a ceremony at the Playboy mansion.
Harris remained married to the legendary publisher until his death aged 91 on September 27, 2017.
Will Crystal Harris inherit any of Hefner’s fortune?
Harris was reportedly not included in Hefner’s will after signing an iron-clad pre-nuptial agreement.
The Playboy founder’s $43million fortune will be divided between his four children, the University of Southern California and a list of charities, reports .
But Harris will be “looked after” following the 91-year-old’s death, according to the report.
