UBER AND OUT
Uber’s British boss has quit at the height of the company’s crisis over its London licence
UBER’s British boss has quit at the height of the company’s crisis over its London licence.
Jo Bertram yesterday announced she would be leaving the ride-hailing business after four years.
It comes ten days after Transport for London ruled Uber was unfit to operate in the capital.
Ms Bertram said in an internal email she would be taking up a “new and exciting role elsewhere”.
She wrote: “Given some of our current challenges, I’m also convinced that now is the right time to have a change of face.”
Company records show she quit three weeks before TfL’s decision.
Uber’s new global chief executive Dara Khosrowshahi will hold crisis talks with TfL commissioner Mike Brown today.
