Intelligence services have intercepted dozens of encrypted messages and phone calls that have revealed the operation, according to the .

The messages suggest female Muslims are being targeted by the terror group with the two women thought to have links to them.

A source told the newspaper: "Jones and Lewthwaite are at the top of the UK’s and the US' most-wanted list. They are two very dangerous, manipulative terrorists.

"The Islamic State in Syria and Iraq may be close to collapse but the war will go on and these two women are recruiting other females to their death cult."

They added: “Intelligence suggests that they are now attempting to recruit in the UK and other European countries and they are targeting white converts.”

With ISIS on the verge of losing it's Syrian stronghold of Raqqa, the group published a call to arms to its female members in its propaganda magazine.

It said: "Today, in the context of the war against the Islamic State, it has become necessary for female Muslims to fulfil their duties on all fronts in supporting the mujahedeen in this battle.”

Single mum Jones, from Kent, fled to Syria in 2013 after marrying Junaid Hussian.

She has become known as 'Mrs Terror' and is regarded by terrorism authorities as an influential recruiter of women for ISIS.

Lewthwaite is known as the 'White Widow' and is known for being the mastermind behind several attacks in east Africa where she operates with the jihadist group al-Shabaab.

She was married to Germaine Lindsay, one of the 7/7 bombers who killed 26 people on an Undeground train travelling on the Piccadilly line.
