Ewan McGregor slams Harvey Weinstein and reveals he’s heard sex abuse rumours for years

HOLLYWOOD star Ewan McGregor has slammed Harvey Weinstein and says he heard "rumours" about the movie mogul's behaviour over many years.

McGregor, the star of the Trainspotting films, said Weinsten was getting his "just deserts" and added: "Bye bully."

The Hollywood producer has been at the centre of a growing scandal after a string of women came forward alleging casting couch-style sexual harassment.

The Oscar-winning producer, 65, was also accused of raping three women in explosive new allegations which rocked Hollywood.

Today McGregor tweeted: "Weinstein. It's about time this came to light and he is getting is just deserts.

"Heard rumours over the years but this is awful. Bye Bully!"

Weinstein's British wife Georgina Chapman also said she was leaving him last night as the new allegations mounted.

Today Weinstein said he supported her decision, adding he encouraged her to do what her heart told her.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie are among the raft of new accusers to go public in the past 24 hours.

Jolie said she had a “bad experience” with him while at a junket for his film Playing By Heart in 1998. He was said to have made an “unwanted advance” and Angelina never worked with him again.

She said: "This behaviour towards women in any field, any country, is unacceptable."

The actresses’ claims, in the , emerged as magazine published the results of a ten-month exposé on Weinstein - fired from his own company on Sunday over spiralling accusations of inappropriate behaviour to women over three decades.

Meanwhile, Emma Watson also says she supports the Hollywood stars who have accused him.

The 27-year-old Harry Potter star tweeted: "I stand with all the women who have been sexually harassed, and am awestruck by their bravery. This mistreatment of women has to stop."

The producer worked with Watson in 2011 when she starred in his film My Week With Marilyn.

In 2011, when she was 19, the pair were pictured leaving a dinner after the BAFTAs award ceremony. Weinstein is seen holding both of Watson's arms from behind.
