Labour MPs Stephen Kinnock and Wes Streeting set to speak at rally staged by a ‘toxic’ Islamic group in Parliament
The event has been organised by extremist group 'Mend' headed by Boss Azad Ali who has backed the killing of Brit troops in Iraq
A “TOXIC” Islamic group slammed for its anti-Semitism is being allowed to hold a rally in Parliament — with two Labour MPs as speakers.
Stephen Kinnock and Wes Streeting will be joined by an FA official at the event billed as tackling “Islamophobia”.
It is being staged by the extremist organisation Muslim Engagement and Development (Mend).
Boss Azad Ali has backed the killing of Brit troops in Iraq. He has also called on mosques to pray for jihadis.
The sinister group is notorious for railing against Israeli “zionists” on Twitter.
Last night a prominent figure in the Government’s counter-terror programme Prevent said: “They are a cancer in the Muslim community — absolutely toxic.”
One anti-terrorism expert said: “They have several figures that are actively anti-Semitic. They go out of their way to attack liberal Muslim voices.”
Tory MPs Anna Soubry and Crispin Blunt have pulled out of Wednesday’s event — as has Lib Dem Sir Ed Davey.
The defiant organisation dismissed criticism of it as a “baseless slur”.
The FA last night declined to comment.
