Ex-Liberal Democrat MP Lembit Opik accused of heavy drinking and being an absentee father — by his baby’s mum in fiery tweet
EX-Lib Dem MP Lembit Opik has been accused of heavy drinking and being an absentee dad — by his baby’s mum.
Sabina Vankova, 33, hit out on Twitter.
She claimed Mr Opik, 52, was at times unfit to look after daughter Angelina, born in June.
The lawyer has posted barbed tweets aimed at publicly embarrassing her partner.
On October 20, Bulgarian Miss Vankova wrote: “4 pints at lunch . . . hmmm hmmm hmmm, something is very wrong here”.
Four days earlier she said: “He just called me to say he’s coming to babysit Angelina, then came, took the charger for his laptop and left. Also woke up the baby — instead of helping.”
On the same day she said: “If he comes back ‘early’ which means 8-9pm most of the times he has
consumed alcohol therefore is unfit to babysit.”
Mr Opik — who previously dated weather presenter Sian Lloyd, 59, and Cheeky Girls star Gabriela Irimia, 34 — is a host on BBC Radio Kent and has talked about his baby on air.
But Sabina tweeted: “He hardly spends time with her, how does he know if she’s well.”
Last night at their flat in Lambeth, South London, she said: “I posted those comments because he made me angry. We have serious issues to deal with.”
Mr Opik said: “I’m not going to talk about this.”
